A Summer of Joyful, Purposeful Learning

LitCamp PreK is a summer literacy and social development program that sets the stage for school success. Each day, children engage in fun lessons that build:

Kindergarten Readiness

Develop children's academic, social, and behavioral skills for a successful start.

Literacy Skills

Introduce phonological awareness, concepts of print, vocabulary, and more.

Social Development

Foster social skills like friendship, belonging, and kindness.

Increased Engagement

Incorporate movement, songs, and hands-on activities to keep kids excited to learn.

How LitCamp PreK Works

LitCamp PreK is designed to be flexibly implemented, offering 20 developmentally appropriate lessons for young learners over the course of 4–8 weeks.

Engaging Read-Alouds

Provide campers with consistent exposure to oral language, print, and the joy of reading.

Oral Storytelling

Listening to and telling stories gives campers freedom to play with spoken language.

Print Awareness

Children learn to handle books, turn pages, and develop a sense of what it means to be a reader.

Community Activity

Group games and chants are a fun, welcoming way to build speaking & listening skills.

Writing and Drawing

Activities extend learning about the day's read-aloud and cultivate creativity.

“PreK LitCampers arrive with wide eyes and open hearts. While one camper may cling to a caregiver’s hand, another may rush toward the excitement. LitCamp sets the stage for a welcoming and memorable entrance into a lifetime of learning.”
