Hear From Teachers Who’ve Raised Funds With ClassroomsCount™

“My campaign enabled me to provide options and resources to many students who might not have opportunities to read or buy books of their own. My students love books and I want to encourage reading and provide resources for them.”

– Amir L., ClassroomsCount™ teacher in Chicago, IL

“My students have been so excited and so thankful. When they see that red and white Scholastic box sitting on my reading table, they cannot wait for me to open it so we can ‘oooh and ahhh’ over the titles. I always tell them who contributed funds and what my relationship is with that person to help my students have a more personal connection.”

– Melissa C., ClassroomsCount™ teacher in Baytown, TX

“With the success of my campaign this year, I am now raising funds for all of the kindergarten classes in my school. My students get so excited to get their books and I hype up the day we get them — so I'm excited as well! I even bought a self-inking stamp for the back of the books. It says, "This book is from Mrs. B! I love you!"

– Brandi B., ClassroomsCount™ teacher in Virginia Beach, VA

Ms. Kemp's Classroom Library Fund

Teacher: Margaret K.

I teach 2nd grade at Idlewild Elementary. I am launched this campaign to get more books in my students’ hands by expanding our classroom library. One of the biggest joys of teaching is seeing a student fall in love with books. But it’s not always easy to get the right book in the hands of the right reader. Some of my students are interested in books about animals, while others love sports or history. Not only are my students interested in different things, but they also read at different levels! I can only be the teacher I want to be if I can help my students become better readers. The most effective way to do this is to fill my classroom library with a diverse collection of books across a variety of levels. Your support will help me raise $300 to fill our classroom library with new books. Growing lifelong readers is the goal of my class—and your contribution will help do just that!

Promoting Little Readers

Teacher: Sarah R.

Hi Everyone! We are Ms. Madison and Ms. Lori, the lead teachers at Marion Daycare. Exploring books is a critical part in child development. We want to spark an interest in reading by providing our classroom children with a variety of books to explore. With your support we will be able to expand our classroom libraries and help them grow their love for books.

One Book a Month for Every Student!

Teacher: Caitlyn S.

Hello! My name is Caitlyn and I teach kindergarten at Washington Elementary. I’m raising funds to give each of my 18 students one book monthly. I hope that these books will inspire my students to read with their families. Children are taught how to read at school, but the real joy of reading is found at home. When you become a Book Fairy by contributing to my campaign, you’ll help me raise $200 to send books home with students. Any extra funds will go toward building our classroom library and will benefit kids for years to come. With your support, I’ll be able to choose books that reflect the interests of every student in my class. Will you become a Book Fairy for my students? Thank you for your support!

Help 4th Graders Take Home Their Own Stories!

Teacher: Brittany V.

I am raising money to buy each of my 4th-grade students two books every month for the remainder of the school year. I believe that owning books fosters a love for reading, builds confidence, and enhances literacy skills. Many students do not have access to books at home, and I want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience the joy of reading beyond the classroom. By providing them with their own books to keep, I hope to inspire a lifelong love of learning and empower them with knowledge that will support their future success. I need your support to make this possible! By donating any amount, you can help me give each of my 4th-grade students brand-new books every month to take home and keep as their own. Your generosity will provide them with the gift of reading, opening doors to imagination, knowledge, and a brighter future. Every dollar counts in helping these young minds grow. Please consider donating and making a lasting impact on a child’s education! Thank you!!

Books for Bright Futures

Teacher: Katherine R.

This year I would like for every student in our classroom to receive a free book to take home each month. By raising funds through Scholastic, we can purchase a diverse selection of engaging and age-appropriate books. This initiative not only fosters a love of reading but also supports literacy development, allowing students to build their personal libraries and share the joy of reading with their families.

Creating Leaders Through Reading

Teacher: Bronwyn T.

We are launching this campaign to get more books in our students’ hands that meet their diverse needs and interests! One of the greatest rewards, is witnessing the excitement for reading! I hope that these books will be a way of families to connect and share time together. While our students are just starting their school journey, this is also a great time when they are able to explore so many books. When you contributing to our campaign, you’ll help me raise $ to send books home with students. Any extra funds will go toward building our classroom library and will benefit kids for years to come. With your support, I’ll be able to choose books that reflect the interests of every student. Thank you for your support!

Acceso a Libros

Teacher: Leah P.

I work in a school with over 100 Spanish-speaking students, many of whom are learning English while maintaining their Spanish literacy. Some of my students read fluently in both languages, while others are just beginning their journey in English. In my Newcomers classes, many students primarily read in Spanish, making access to books in their native language essential. Research shows that maintaining literacy in a student's first language while learning a new one strengthens both language skills, enhances cognitive flexibility, and improves overall academic achievement. While our libraries offer some books in other languages, the selection is limited. My goal is to raise enough funds to send each of my Newcomer students home with at least two Spanish books this summer. By contributing to this initiative, you’re not just providing books—you’re supporting language development, fostering a love for reading, and helping students connect with their cultural identity. Every donation makes a difference!

First Grade Readers Are Leaders

Teacher: Ashen L.

My goal with this campaign is to be able to purchase every student in my first grade class, a new book every month of the school year. When doing so, they are being exposed to different kinds of texts. As a teacher, it is my responsibility and my goal to help children find their love for reading and learning. When this is done authentically, and when they are given opportunities like this, they can then share their love for reading with the next person. When they take home a new book every month, it builds their at home library and allows a time to bond with their families over a good book. Please consider making a donation to my 2024-2025 campaign so that I can do my part in making a positive impact on my students! Thank you so much! - Miss Lockwood
