Hear From Teachers Who’ve Raised Funds With ClassroomsCount™

“My campaign enabled me to provide options and resources to many students who might not have opportunities to read or buy books of their own. My students love books and I want to encourage reading and provide resources for them.”

– Amir L., ClassroomsCount™ teacher in Chicago, IL

“My students have been so excited and so thankful. When they see that red and white Scholastic box sitting on my reading table, they cannot wait for me to open it so we can ‘oooh and ahhh’ over the titles. I always tell them who contributed funds and what my relationship is with that person to help my students have a more personal connection.”

– Melissa C., ClassroomsCount™ teacher in Baytown, TX

“With the success of my campaign this year, I am now raising funds for all of the kindergarten classes in my school. My students get so excited to get their books and I hype up the day we get them — so I'm excited as well! I even bought a self-inking stamp for the back of the books. It says, "This book is from Mrs. B! I love you!"

– Brandi B., ClassroomsCount™ teacher in Virginia Beach, VA

Rebuilding After Helene

Teacher: Roseann S.

Hello friends! On September 26th, Hurricane Helene flooded my elementary school and all of my teaching supplies and books that I have collected over the years were destroyed. Time to recreate and build a new library. I teach second grade and any donation would be incredible to assist in rebuilding my classroom library. I realize this will take time and I thank you for your generosity.

Readers are Leaders

Teacher: Daira M.

Hello! My name is Daira and I am a bilingual paraprofessional helping the emerging bilingual students from Kindergarten to 5th grade at Bayou Vista Elementary. I’m raising funds to start my classroom library and also to give each of my students at least two books for them to keep. I believe that books ignite the love for reading and the more we read the better we become. I want all my students to be good readers and love reading and become leaders as they get older and wiser. I hope that these books will inspire my students to read and share the love for reading with their families. Every donation is very appreciated. Thank you for your support!

Mrs. Guthrie's Class Reading Campaign

Teacher: Nicole G.

Hi there, I lam launching this campaign to get more books in my students’ hands by expanding our classroom library. One of the biggest joys of teaching is seeing a student fall in love with a book. But it’s not always easy to get the right book in the hands of the right reader. Some of my students are interested in books about animals, while others love sports or history. Not only are my students interested in different things, but they also read at different levels! I can only be the teacher I want to be if I can help my students become better readers. The most effective way to do this is to fill my classroom library with a diverse collection of books across a variety of levels. Your support will help me raise $600 to fill our classroom library with new books. Please share this with friends and family and anyone you know who may want to help our class. Growing lifelong readers is the goal of my class—and your contribution will help do just that! Thank you, Mrs. Guthrie

Getting Books into the Hands of my Students.

Teacher: Christine S.

Hello! My name is Christine and I teach 3rd grade. I would like to be able to give each student in my classroom (currently 21 students) a brand new book each month of the school year. I am raising funds to be able to do that. I think it is important to foster a love of reading, and I intend to help do that with each of my students. Some months we will read and discuss the books together, and others the students will have the opportunity to read the books on their own. Your support will help me raise enough money to send students home with nothing less than 10 books each this school year. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping to facilitate me in introducing my students to the wonderful world of reading! Sincerely, Christine

Help share your love of reading with my students

Teacher: Lisa P.

Hello! My name is Lisa and I teach Pre-k. I’m raising funds to give each of my 18 students at least one or two books monthly. I hope that these books will be a way of families to connect and share time together. While my students are just starting their school journey, this is also a great time when they are able to explore so many books. When you contributing to my campaign, you’ll help me raise $300 to send books home with students. Any extra funds will go toward building our classroom library and will benefit kids for years to come. With your support, I’ll be able to choose books that reflect the interests of every student in my class. Thank you for your support!

Books for Bright Futures

Teacher: Katherine R.

This year I would like for every student in our classroom to receive a free book to take home each month. By raising funds through Scholastic, we can purchase a diverse selection of engaging and age-appropriate books. This initiative not only fosters a love of reading but also supports literacy development, allowing students to build their personal libraries and share the joy of reading with their families.

Opening doors to bilingualism and multiculturalism

Teacher: Erika G.

Hi! My name is Erika Gonzales. I am a Spanish teacher for a two-way immersion school in MD. I have a deep passion teaching students to value their native languages and welcoming a new language in their life. I think that students will benefit and open doors to multi diverse ideas and cultures making them prepare to meet and build relationships with people with differents backgrounds. I will thank each of you to make my library fun and interesting for my students. Thank you!

Be a Book Fairy!

Teacher: Mildred P.

Hello! My name is Mildred Phoenix, I currently teach second grade. I’m pursuing my Doctorate Degree in Educational Innovation and there is a ton of reading! I want to make sure my students have access to quality and current content non-fiction books. This is where you come in! 😁 Become a book fairy with a donation to our community! With your help I can rebuild my Native Tribe - Project Based Learning (PBL) Unit with books that are using the most current and socially accepted terminology and text features. Thank you for taking your time to read about our campaign.

First Grade Readers Are Leaders

Teacher: Ashen L.

My goal with this campaign is to be able to purchase every student in my first grade class, a new book every month of the school year. When doing so, they are being exposed to different kinds of texts. As a teacher, it is my responsibility and my goal to help children find their love for reading and learning. When this is done authentically, and when they are given opportunities like this, they can then share their love for reading with the next person. When they take home a new book every month, it builds their at home library and allows a time to bond with their families over a good book. Please consider making a donation to my 2024-2025 campaign so that I can do my part in making a positive impact on my students! Thank you so much! - Miss Lockwood
