Nurture our Classroom's Love for Reading

Teacher: Lori T.

My fifth grade classroom loves to read. However, our classroom book library is in desperate need of some attention and new books. If you are able and would like to, please consider donating to our classroom library. My students absolutely love to read, and it would be amazing to be able to offer them a plethora of incredible books to choose from each day. Their growing love for learning and reading is truly inspiring. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Please consider helping our fifth grade class!

Inspiring a Love of Reading

Teacher: Noelle S.

Hello! My name is Noelle, and I teach 5th grade here in New Jersey. My goal is to build up our classroom library so that my current class (and future classes) can borrow books. I want to encourage my students to read more than what is required in our curriculum! I am also interested in subscribing to the Scholastic News magazine for my class.

Inspire Students to Read 365 Days a Year!

Teacher: Rachel Z.

These funds will support my students' digital and print Scholastic Scope subscription, as well as help provide more books for the classroom library! Scholastic Scope is specifically designed to build literacy, engagement, and critical thinking skills for middle school students. Scope offers high-interest nonfiction and fiction texts at a level appropriate for 7th graders. These engaging passages help students practice identifying main ideas and supporting details, making inferences, understanding vocabulary in context, and comparing viewpoints. Each edition includes thought-provoking writing prompts and activities that challenge students to analyze text structure, evaluate arguments and evidence, and form opinions with textual support. Scholastic Scope includes a wide range of genres. The variety helps reach students with different interests so they stay engaged and curious. Scope issues include articles on science, history, and current events; short fiction and poetry; and biographies and interviews, etc. Also, students may access this resource online from home. It is so important for every student to read at least 22 minutes each evening to improve their reading skills. While some students voraciously read novels, others need to access articles and stories chunked into more manageable segments. Scholastic helps both struggling readers, as well as readers that may not be in the mood to read at that moment. Whatever amount you can give is appreciated!

Books In Every Backpack

Teacher: Kristen L.

I am raising funds to help build a love of reading in my 1st grade classroom at Clearfield Area Elementary School by providing each student with a brand-new book to keep every month for the remainder of the school year. I have 20 amazing students, and I am asking for $2 per child, with a total fundraising goal of $250. This will allow me to purchase one book per student each month, helping them grow their personal home libraries and continue developing their reading skills outside of school. All donations will go directly to my Scholastic Book Club account, which can only be used to purchase books from Scholastic. This ensures that every dollar raised goes straight to high-quality, age-appropriate books chosen specifically for my students. For many children, owning books of their own makes reading more exciting, meaningful, and personal. Your support will help create joyful reading moments, encourage independent reading, and foster a lifelong love of books. Thank you for helping put stories into the hands of my students—one book, one child, one month at a time 📚💛

Inspire Kids To Love Reading

Teacher:  Christopher N.

Hello my name is Christopher Natoli and I currently teach 3rd and 4th grade students Social Studies and Reading Skills at Destine Prep in Schenectady New York. My goal is to raise enough money to give each student in these grades the opportunity to take home 2 or more books to build a personal library. When you donate to this cause, you are giving young readers the chance to sharpen their skills, build a love for reading, and give them an outlet that they may not already have to grow. Through your support I will be able to sit down with each student and let them choose their own books from scholastic to be able to take home and enjoy. Thank you for your time and your support!

If You Give a Child a Book

Teacher: Krystle S.

Early access to books shapes a child’s future. Stories spark imagination, build confidence, and open doors to a lifelong love of reading. For some of our Pre-K students, however, access to high-quality books at home is limited and that’s where our community can make a powerful impact. We love our Pre-K class here at SEHS, and this project is a wonderful way to give them a special gift that will last a lifetime. With your support, each child will receive a brand-new book every month to help build their home library, 6 beautiful books they can read, re-read, and cherish. By placing books directly into their hands, we’re giving them the tools to develop early literacy skills, increase reading fluency, and share meaningful reading moments with their families. The excitement begins soon—their first book will be delivered when they receive a special visit in a couple of weeks from the man in red! 🎅📚 Thank you for helping us make reading magic happen for our youngest Mustangs!

Support our Classroom Library

Teacher: Nora M.

Hi there, I’m Nora, and I teach 6th grade at Maplewood Elementary. I launched this campaign to get more books in my students’ hands by expanding our classroom set library. One of the biggest joys of teaching is seeing a student fall in love with a book. But it’s not always easy to get the right book in the hands of the right reader. Some of my students are interested in books about animals, while others love sports or history. Some do not yet know how enjoyable reading can be, and it is my mission to show them that reading is fun! I enjoy doing whole-class novel studies with my students and introducing them to a wide range of genres in reading. Having whole class sets of books makes this much easier. I can only be the teacher I want to be if I can help my students become better readers. The most effective way to do this is to fill my classroom library with a diverse collection of books across a variety of levels. Your support will help me raise $500 to fill our classroom library with new books. Growing lifelong readers is the goal of my class—and your contribution will help do just that! Thank you, Nora

A Library for Every Learner

Teacher: Stephanie G.

I would like to use these Scholastic funds to update our classroom library by purchasing culturally relevant, high-interest books at a variety of reading levels. These books will help students see themselves represented, stay engaged in independent reading, strengthen comprehension and vocabulary skills, and build reading stamina. Expanding our classroom library will also allow me to better support diverse learners, encourage a love of reading both in and out of the classroom, and provide students with access to books they may not otherwise have.

When we place the right book in a child’s hands

Teacher: Joan M.

We are a bilingual classroom in a Title I school, where more than 85% of our students come from families facing economic challenges. Many of our students are newcomers, learning English for the first time while continuing to grow academically in their home language. Every day, they show incredible resilience, curiosity, and a love for learning. Our classroom library, however, is struggling to keep up with them. Most of our books are outdated, worn, or no longer relevant to our students’ needs. We rarely receive donations, and as a result, our shelves don’t reflect the rich cultures, languages, and reading levels of the amazing children in our room. Our goal is to give our students access to new, high-quality books in both Spanish and English—books that inspire them, reflect their identities, support their language development, and help them fall in love with reading. Your support will directly impact our students’ daily lives. Even a small contribution helps us create a library that invites students to explore, imagine, and grow. Thank you for believing in our students and helping us build the library they deserve. Together, we can create a brighter, more joyful learning experience for every child in our class.
