Book Fair eWallet

Go cashless with Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that makes hosting and shopping the Fair easier.

How does eWallet work?

Book Fair eWallet is the easy way for students to shop the Fair cash-free, worry-free, and independently. It’s also easy for families to set up from your school’s Book Fair homepage, available three weeks before the Fair begins.

Family members can add funds with a credit card, use their Scholastic eGift balance, or simply invite others to contribute. Funds are available immediately and additional funds can be added at any time.

Processing eWallets during the Fair

All eWallets are pre-loaded on the register, making checkout quick and easy. Follow these best practices to keep the lines moving:

o

Connect all registers to the Internet—this will ensure eWallet balances stay up-to-date throughout the Fair.

o

Use the SEARCH feature to find an eWallet by student name, grade, or teacher.

o

If your register loses connectivity, print your school’s Scan Sheet, which includes a unique barcode for each eWallet, keeping all balances updated.

Since funds can be added at any time, monitor your eWallet roster daily. Toward the end of the Fair, check for eWallets with unspent funds and ask teachers to remind their students to come and shop.

What happens to eWallets after the Fair?

After the Fair ends and all registers are closed out, unspent funds become a Scholastic eGift balance available in the eWallet creator's Scholastic account where they can:

o

Use the balance to fund a new eWallet for a future Book Fair.

o

Shop online with Scholastic.

o

Contribute any portion to your school's Share the Fair™ account.

Account holders get a monthly email with their balance, making it easy to remember to use their funds.

Encourage teachers to create an eWallet, too

The Book Fair is the perfect place for teachers to stock their classroom library with new books! After teachers create an eWallet–which takes less than a minute–a best practice is to share their eWallet link, or send an email to families using our customizable template to ask for contributions.
